Abstract
Excess sediment yield during landslide events and annually has led to an increase in landslides, debris flows, and barrier lake disasters. Therefore, economic losses caused by sediment-related disasters damaging houses,schools, hospitals, roads, and other infrastructure have increased considerably. This study used Dazhong Village Landslide
No.1 in Yilan County, Taiwan, as an example of a large-scale landslide area to develop risk assessment and
adaptation strategies for 50-year and 200-year return period rainfall conditions. This information can be incorporated into local and national decision-making for emergency and evacuation planning in future landslide events.
